Buying An Xbox 360 Can Be Confusing!

I have been after a games console for quite a while yet and still haven’t taken the plunge of exchanging my hard earned money for one at my local gaming retailer. I am sure at this point however, that I am definitely after an Xbox 360 especially since the PS3 network was recently hacked into be an unknown source!

Acquiring and 360 can be a trifle intimidating though, as there are several different systems available but I just want to play a game of Duke Nukem Forever Balls of Steel editionwhen it hits the high street later this year!

A Xbox 360 Core System is white shelled and is notable for operating with wired controllers only. This set up is not suitable to most players who are likely to want to save their game progress and download in game content, which is impossible without the memory unit (not included with the Core package). The Xbox 360 Arcade package eventually replaced the Core option as the basic Xbox package which does come with the necessary 256 MB memory unit, as well as wireless controller set up and the benefits of Xbox Live Silver.

360 Premium comes with everything in the Arcade package and more besides, including a 20 gigabyte portable hard drive for storing data of all varieties, a head set, HD AV cable, Xbox Live Silver and a free trial of the Gold version. The 360 Elite package on the other hand is the ultimate for fans of the Xbox and comprises a shiny shell that is black in colour and the box contains a HDMI cable. The package also includes the previously mentioned peripherals and Xbox Live trials, and also a whopping 120 GB hard drive!

Considering the fact that I have been hankering for an external hard drive for a long time now, the Premium package would appear to be the deal that I buy. I’m likely to play the LA Noire when it is released and am almost certainly going to pre order NCAA Football 2012.
